I believe we all enjoy learning.
That sense of discovery.
Of adding something new to your font of knowledge.
Every time I’ve visited a factory, it’s been interesting.
The sounds, the smells, the journey there.
The source of the craftsmanship.
Being witness to the creation of a product.
And of course, most primarily, the people.
That human connection I feel is the most important.
With each person you meet,
there’s an opportunity to learn something new,
maybe a different point of view.
…
It started off with a spring clean…
that lead to re-exploring the sleeves in my vinyl collection.
Appreciating the artwork on the covers.
Recalling how I’d read the lyrics for the first time,
while listening to the music.
Reading through the credits.
Who played what. Who wrote which song.
Imagining the story behind the lyrics.
Learning who was behind the music.
I found it interesting then, and I feel it’s important now.
That human touch. The who behind the what.
So I include the credits on the back of our shoe box.
To show credit where credit’s due.
It’s why the box is the same dimensions, albeit deeper, as an album cover.
…

To inspire an awareness, so you know what you buy.
To know where it came from, who made it, and why.

Thank you for reading.
Have a beautiful night.
