Photograph of a glass in a bar, by Anthony Stoker

Notice the flavours
of days and nights,
the colours and the trends.
Notice belief in every note,
reeling from The Bends.

Notice the taste of offering,
and all the words that we consume,
like the flowers all around us,
not just the ones in bloom.

Notice the sounds
we take for granted,
and the silence in contrast.
In the lessons for the future,
there is wisdom from the past.

Notice the courage to produce
with no need to feign.
What we create
is for the muse,
and there for all to gain.

Notice the difference in the air
when it’s about to rain,
like the beats we find
within our hearts
are never loved in vain.
